ReImagining the Rio Salado a Tempe Beach Park Inventory
This lightning talk will review a research project completed by ASU Landscape Architect students this past Spring. The project is associated with the Rio ReImagined Research effort and focuses on the benefits of trees and vegetation at a park in Tempe, Arizona. Using GIS, advanced GNSS, and the software iTree the students conducted a comprehensive site inventory of the Tempe Beach Park for the computation and analysis of associate environmental benefits. The project is a pilot endeavor showing the capabilities of using GIS for advanced environmental design and planning. Results from the inventory will be discussed and recommendations made for a resilient and sustainable future.
