The Maps & Apps Challenge is underway and we are looking for your best posters and web/mobile apps! It's easy to participate in the challenge. Simply complete the online form, providing your personal information along with an abstract describing your map or app, and upload a PDF file of your map or include a link to your application.

As in years past, hard copy maps/posters will be displayed outside conference meeting rooms for the viewing pleasure of your fellow mapping compatriots. Electronic versions of the maps and snapshots of applications will also be shown electronically during lunches on the podium screen, and contest submittals will be highlighted during the Wednesday night social. New this year -- up to 10 participants will be able to highlight their web/mobile application in a 5-7 minute lightning talk. This will be first-come/first-served so be sure to sign up early.

Start planning which of your mapping masterpieces you are going to submit today!

Your Work on Display

As in years past, hard copy maps/posters will be displayed outside conference meeting rooms for the viewing pleasure of your fellow mapping compatriots. Electronic versions of the maps and snapshots of applications will also be shown electronically during lunches on the podium screen. As was done in 2016, the Maps and Apps submittals will be featured at the Wednesday night social from 5pm to 6pm. Hard copy maps will be displayed on the poster panels and Apps will be projected onto the big screen in the ballroom, with access to view the apps available on laptops. You or a colleague should plan to be present at the social on Wednesday, September 20 to discuss your map/app and answer questions your fellow GISers may have.

Share the cool stuff you are doing with people that will appreciate all the hours of blood, sweat and tears you put into it!

This is an excellent opportunity for GIS professionals and students alike to network, so get your entry submitted today!
